RETA SHARPE CREWS
Reta S. Crews 90, died Saturday, April 15, 2006 at Riverview Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born June 22, 1915 in Ludowici, Georgia, the daughter of Nathan and Ruby Sharpe. Mrs. Crews was married to the late Raymond Leon Crews for 57 years. She was a resident of Savannah for more than 50 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple where she taught Sunday school for 40 years and was active in the Women’s Missionary Union. She was a loving mother who was family oriented. Besides rearing her children, she excelled at quilt making and taught quilting and rag doll classes for local school children and adults through the Georgia Council for the Arts until her health failed.
Surviving are, her daughter and son in law, Margaret and Charles Barnes of Eufaula, Alabama, her sons and daughters in law, Charlie and Sue Crews of Savannah, W. Carson and Sandy Crews of Savannah, a sister, Helen Knight of St. Simons, Georgia, five grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 18, 2006 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel with burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
